2014 IMPACT Awards

Project of the Year

UPS

UPS is the winner of this award for helping the Atlanta Community ToolBank move its warehouse from near Turner Field to just south of Grant Park over a one-week period in July 2013.  A UPS employee who has served on the Atlanta Community ToolBank's board of directors for four years and is the lead on the ToolBank's Planning Committee orchestrated the project and led the effort to purchase the new facility for the organization.  UPS provided trucks each day that week as well as three to five volunteers to move smaller pallets of materials to the nonprofit's new headquarters.  On Saturday, 53 UPS employees brought six large box trucks help complete the move within a four-hour window.  If the ToolBank had paid for the move outright, it would have cost more than $15,000, or 6 percent of its normal operating budget.
